«Antigüedad Marítima de la República de Cartago»

Os presento, en esta entrada de mi blog personal, un libro escrito por uno de los personajes mas influyentes en el ámbito cultural en el siglo XVIII en España. Se trata de D. Pedro Rodríguez Campomanes Pérez (1-VII-1.723 ~ 3-11-1802). Su aportación a la historia y a la geografía se acompañó de incursiones en otros campos del saber, como la agricultura, aunque pasó a la historia, sobre todo, por ser ministro en el reinado de Carlos III.

Esta obra pretendió ser, según su autor, como una introducción o primera parte de la Historia de la Marina Española, que pensaba escribir, donde España aparece resaltada dentro del ámbito cartaginés.

El ejemplar que pongo en venta conserva los 2 planos al final del volumen, tiene grandes márgenes, ya que no fue nunca encuadernado. A modo de encuadernación tiene un papel pegado que debió ponerse hace unos 50 años. La conservación del papel es bastante buena, está limpio y como digo, con grandes márgenes para ser encuadernado. La segunda parte de la obra, El periplo del general Hannon, está intonso.

I present you, in this entry of my personal blog, a book written by one of the most influential figures in the cultural field in the eighteenth century in Spain. It is about Mr. Pedro Rodríguez Campomanes Pérez (1-VII-1.723 ~ 3-11-1802). His contribution to history and geography was accompanied by forays into other fields of knowledge, such as agriculture, although he went down in history, above all, as a minister in the reign of Carlos III.

This work was intended to be, according to its author, as an introduction or first part of the History of the Spanish Navy, which he planned to write, where Spain appears highlighted within the Carthaginian sphere.

The copy that I put up for sale preserves the 2 plans at the end of the volume, it has large margins, since it was never bound. By way of binding it has a glued paper that must have been put on about 50 years ago. The conservation of the paper is quite good, it is clean and as I say, with large margins to be bound. The second part of the play, The Journey of General Hannon, is complete.
